Why A Bible Verse for Depression?

A Bible verse for depression proactively combats your negative thinking. If you suffer from depression, one of the best things you can do is read God’s Word.

Why is that?

Because it fills our minds with the promises of God – promises and blessings He so desperately wants us to experience! You will most often not feel like reading His Word but we cannot rely on our feelings. Emotions can lead us the wrong way, but God's Word stands firm and unchanging. A Bible verse for depression can get you on the right track.

Okay, let's take a look into a few golden nuggets of the Word...

"The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." - John 10:10

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11

"Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." - 1 Peter 5:7

“In the distant future, when you are suffering all these things, you will finally return to the Lord your God and listen to what he tells you. For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon you or destroy you or forget the solemn covenant he made with your ancestors. - Deuteronomy 4:30-31

"Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,

“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

So we can say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” - Hebrews 13:5,6

"And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. - Matthew 6:30-34
