"Our Successful Depression Treatment Equation..."

"Your depression treatment advice was a life-saver for me! I don't know where I'd be if not for your site!"

happy young woman

You may be surprised to find that there are a number of treatments available today. The type of treatment you may be prescribed depends on the type and seriousness of your depression.

“First, what depression treatment is most common?”

The two most common treatments you’ll hear about by far are drug therapy and psychotherapy or ‘talk therapy’.

But, are they healthy and effective?

In drug therapy, a person takes regular doses of anti depressants to reduce symptoms. These drugs often relieve symptoms of depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and other disorders. However, they may produce undesirable and sometimes serious side effects. In addition, relapse may occur when they are discontinued. Medication can also ‘cause depression.

In our experiences, some of us chose to use drug therapy as a kick start but it became a dangerous therapy for the long term.

Talk therapy happens with a trained professional. You can do talk therapy individually or in a group setting. The advantage of talk therapy is that there are no side effects. Talk therapy can help you gain insight into and resolve your problems through verbal exchange with your therapist, sometimes combined with "homework" assignments between sessions.

"But, what depression treatment worked for us?"

You will be surprised at what really worked for us. The methods we discovered and researched are methods that are so simple and inexpensive. I’m afraid many of us have been uninformed about how our bodies really work and what causes depression.

With the help of our doctors, it was an initial combination of medication (very short term after side effects started) and talk therapy and then a transition to a natural cure or cures replacing the medication and moving us into developing new anti depression skills. We were able to then take control of our health and experience joy and happiness as a result!

We'd love to share with you our successful depression recovery plan. It's one we created based on what we read in the medical journals!

Here's a sample quote from one of the medical journals:

"Cognitive and behavioral strategies have been the most effective therapies in treating depression." (Source: Sanderson & McGinn, 2001)

Notice how there's no mention of drugs!

"What are cognitive and behavioral strategies?"

The cognitive and behavioral strategies are simple lifestyle changes. Our report shares the specifics on the simple changes you can make in your life to beat depression starting today!

Because of the annoying and often dangerous side effects you can get from using anti depressants, (many of us experienced suicidal thoughts while using medication) there has been great research done to find a natural cure for depression. Here you will find it.

We’ve compiled our results into a report on our successful depression treatment plan to share with you.

Blessings to you on your road to recovery! There is a light ahead! We’d love to take you on the journey and share with you how we found that light ourselves.

There is hope! You are worth it!

"Hello Merri Ellen I am a therapist who runs out patient programs for people with mental health issues. One of my clients alerted me to your depression site today and I am impressed by both your energy and your generous contribution to others suffering with illness. Thank you. I have just completed reading through your info. Found it to be a wonderfully informative resource and will not have any problem in passing on your website address to some of my clients. The greatest value is in the fact that you have been a consumer and have a very different understanding than others may have. This allows you to be heard a little more readily sometimes. I thank you for your courage and wish you good health always. Regards" - Sue

I followed the steps on this web sight and I’m certainly glad I did. I feel your pain, I hope you can find your way out. No one can do it for you. I’m off all medication and still experience sadness and disparities but those times do not last. I am cheering you on my peaceful home in Tulsa. Don’t forget to do your light therapy. "As a licensed clinical social worker and a woman with a life-time history of depression, I really commend you on the work you have done on this site." - Robyn, Social Worker

"I have been depressed for most of my life, have read many books and articles have taught others about depression, have taken various antidepressant medications. I have begun taking your advice on how to overcome depression for just over a week now.

I am encouraged at what i have read and i have put into practice what has been suggested. I have found that the research of Merri Ellen is very good, it is practical and makes common and medical sense. I fully agree that the medication is only part of the cure for depression, in that it takes away some of the worst symptoms of one's depression. The time to do something about one's depression is when the bad edge has been taken off. I have started the process you recommend and i am encouraged at my progress so far.

The big difference is that i have taken a decision to carefully put into practice what i have been told. So far so good and thank you for your advice. It has been a blessing to me." - Tony
