Help! I was “blindsided” by depression about 5 months ago, and it has my mind racing about what is causing it and how to “get out”. The depression itself is making it hard for me to rationalize, so it is easy to fall into a vicious cycle. I’m trying not to succumb to it, but it would also help if I could stabilize my body and mind by restoring whatever imbalance or deficiencies I’m experiencing.
Looking back, I think I may have been experiencing depression for years now, but I never realized it until the more obvious symptoms occurred. I have been experiencing new or worsening symptoms of other types that were possibly caused by the same deficiencies, so I’m hoping by “fixing” the depression, I can eventually alleviate some other issues. However, I need to learn more about how depression works and how certain remedies work, and therefore which is the best approach to better ensure a positive future. Basically, I’d like share more about my potential journey into full-scale depression, and learn about a potential journey out of it and back to normalcy.
If anyone out there is fairly knowledgable in the area of serotonin and other neurotransmitters, as well as medications like SSRI’s and natural supplements like 5HTP, etc, I would love to share more of my symptoms in an effort to learn more about what I should do. Can someone either write back with more info, or provide an e-mail address and website link that will help me get more answers. I just need to know that there is hope and how I can achieve it.
